The Ragin Cajuns and the Little Rock Trojans went at it for the third time this season and left it all on the line on Saturday afternoon. But a late run by the Trojans was the difference in a 70-63 loss.
The Cajuns and the Trojans went back and forth early on in the first half, but a 9-4 run by Little Rock was enough to put a gap between themselves and the Cajuns with eight minutes left. The Trojans got the lead up to 14, but the Cajuns were able to go on a 6-2 run in the final minutes of the half to cut the deficit to 10 points heading into the locker room.
The second half started out slow, but got interesting with a 12-2 run by the Cajuns to tie things up with 12 minutes left in regulation. But the Trojans continued to have control of the game the rest of the half to advance to the tournament finals.
Shawn Long had another good performance, leading the team with 25 points, seven boards, four assists, three blocks, and one steal on the day. Kasey Shepherd was right behind him with 18 points, two boards, one assist, and one steal.
Jalen Jackson was a huge factor for the Trojans, racking up 16 points on the afternoon.
