Cajuns Fall to Green Wave 5-3

Posted by clintdomingue on March 8, 2016 in Latest News

Cajuns

The Ragin Cajuns stumbled once again in a midweek matchup, this time against Tulane (8-4) by the score of 5-3.

Brenn Conrad got the Cajuns on the board in the top of the fifth with an RBI single through the left side to put them up 1-0.

But Lex Kaplan got the Green Wave rolling in the bottom of the sixth with a two run jack to right center field to take the lead.

The Cajuns were the beneficiaries of a throwing error by Tulane in the top of the seventh that led to Joe Robbins to reach home safely to knot things up at two apiece.

Grant Brown got the Green Wave back in front with an RBI double in the bottom of the seventh. Jeremy Montalbano kept it going in the bottom of the eighth with a two run shot to left field.

The Cajuns attempted to rally in the top of the ninth with Stefan Trosclair hitting a double down the left field line that scored Brenn Conrad, but it was too little too late for the Cajuns.

Jevin Huval dropped his first decision in relief of Evan Guillory. The junior pitched one inning allowing one run off of two hits and struck out two batters.

The Cajuns (8-5) open up their conference slate this weekend in Alabama when they take on Troy (8-6) in a three game series with first pitch set for 6 pm.
