The South Alabama Jaguars (37-14, 20-5 SBC) needed some ninth inning magic on Friday night and got just that in a 3-2 win over the Ragin Cajuns.
The Cajuns got on the board early in the first inning with a single from Stefan Trosclair through the left side that would get Hunter Kasuls across.
Matt Bolger tied things up in the bottom half of the inning with a double down the left field line. Later in the inning, Jared Barnes gave the Jags the lead with a single to second base that got Brendan Donovan across.
Joe Robbins tied things back up in the top of the sixth with a single through the right side that got Stefan Trosclair across.
The score would remain tied until the bottom of the ninth when Travis Swaggerty hit a walk-off single to right field to give the Jags the series-opening win.
Eric Carter dropped to 3-2 on the year allowing one run off of one hit, walking two and striking out one in one and two-thirds innings of work.
The Cajuns (31-19, 16-9 SBC) will try to even up the series on Saturday with first pitch set for 6:30 pm.
