After losing a pair of games to Southeastern on Wednesday night, including a 15-3 decision, the Ragin’ Cajuns exploded for 11 runs on 17 hits to defeat South Alabama 11-1 Friday night in Lafayette.
Gunner Leger (5-1) scattered six hits over six innings, allowing only one run, picking up his fifth win of the season. Leger was given an early 2-0 lead when third baseman Joe Robbins connected for a two-run home run in the first.
The Cajuns bats came to life in the fifth when the first five batters all singled. Eventually Louisiana sent 10 men to the plate scoring five runs.
Wyatt Marks pitched the final three innings, walking one, striking out seven for this third. Cajuns and Jags play again Saturday night 6p.
