Louisiana traveled up to Monroe tonight to take on ULM in a Sun Belt matchup. Louisiana shot over 60% from the field, including 21 from Jordan Brown, to notch an 86-73 win over the Warhawks.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Louisiana jumped out to a massive 19-4 lead in the early going of this contest, with Kentrell Garnett and Jordan Brown combining for 12 of the 19 for the Cajuns.
ULM would cut into the lead some during the next stretch, but this is still going the Cajuns’ way early on as they led 23-9 at the media timeout with 11:45 remaining in the first half.
The Cajuns and the Warhawks once again traded out points in bunches, with Louisiana outscoring ULM 10-7 over the next run to take a 33-16 lead with 7:35 left in the first half. Terence Lewis led all scorers with 9.
Halftime hit in Monroe with the Cajuns leading the Warhawks 47-30 inside Fant-Ewing Coliseum. Louisiana made 59% of their shots in the first half and Jordan Brown led all scorers at the break with 13.
Louisiana started the second half much the same way it played the first half. At the 15:41 mark, the Cajuns held a 17-point advantage at 55-38.
Once again, both teams traded points in four minutes, as the Cajuns held an 8-6 run with the Warhawks. At the 12-minute media timeout, Louisiana led 63-44 over ULM as Greg Williams led all scorers with 15.
However, ULM would not be put away as they went on a 14-5 run to cut it to a 10-point game at the 7:53 mark. Louisiana had made five of their last seven, but no field goals for the last four minutes.
After a technical foul from ULM coach Keith Richard sparked an 8-0 run for the Warhawks, the final media timeout came with 3:47 left and the Cajuns only had a 76-68 lead. Brown led all scorers with 20.
Louisiana outscored ULM 10-5 in the final stretch to secure an 86-73 victory in Monroe. Jordan Brown and Greg Williams Jr combined for 39 points in the win.

Louisiana shot 62% from the field in the win while shooting 65% in the second half. Brown shot 8-11 from the field to lead the Cajuns.
PLAYER OF THE GAME: Jordan Brown
Brown scored 21 points on 8-11 shooting. The junior also added seven rebounds and five assists in the victory.
UP NEXT: Louisiana (13-4) will travel to Mobile to take on South Alabama. Tip-off is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Saturday.
