Cajuns Rally Falls Short Against Houston

Posted by clintdomingue on May 11, 2016 in Latest News

Cajuns

The Ragin Cajuns tried to get a rally going late against the Houston Cougars (29-19), but it was too little too late as they suffered a 3-2 loss.

Josh Vidales got the Cougars on the board in the bottom of the second with a single to right field that allowed Connor Wong to reach home safely.

Connor Hollis made it 2-0 in favor of the Cougars in the bottom of the fourth with a single up the middle. Joe Davis put another one on the board in the bottom of the fifth with a double down the left field line.

The Cajuns finally got on the board in the top of the seventh when Hunter Kasuls was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded. Brian Mills got the Cajuns within one later in the inning with a sac fly to right field, but that was all they were able to get on the night.

Evan Guillory dropped to 4-5 on the year allowing one run off of one hit, walked one, and struck out two in three innings of work.

The Cajuns (31-18) will have to get the loss out of their minds before heading to take on South Alabama in a three-game series with first pitch set for Friday at 6:30 pm.
