After a less than stellar first half, the Ragin Cajuns turned around and dominated the second half on the way to a 73-63 win over Troy (9-19, 4-13 SBC) to snap a three-game skid.
The Cajuns started off strong with an early 6-0 lead, but the Trojans went on a 11-2 run with some sweet shooting from the arc by the Trojans, who went 5-for-12 from three point land in the first half. Poor shooting crippled the Cajuns in the first half as they headed into the locker room down 39-27.
The Cajuns started off the second half in the same fashion as they did in the first, with a burst of energy, but kept it rolling this time around. The Cajuns finally took back the lead with about seven minutes remaining in the game and pulled away with a 16-3 run late to end a three-game losing streak.
Shawn Long led the Cajuns with a monster game. The senior racked up 29 points, 20 boards, two assists, five blocks, and one steal on the night. Steven Wronkoski and Tiremone Williams both ended their day with 10 points each.
Wesley Person led the Trojans with 17 points, five boards, two assists, and one block on the night.
The Cajuns (15-11, 11-6 SBC) will be headed to South Alabama (12-16, 7-10 SBC) for their final road game of the season with tipoff scheduled for 4:05 pm.
