The last time these two teams faced off, Southeastern (22-14) put up 15 runs against the Louisiana Ragin Cajuns (23-14-1) in a convincing victory.
That was on March 29th and the Cajuns were still trying to become more consistent. On Wednesday night, the Cajuns kept looking consistent with a 9-2 victory over the Lions.
Izzy Edwards increased his hit streak to 13 with a leadoff double. Joe Robbins would send him home with a sac fly to center field.
Later in the inning, Steven Sensley went oppo with a solo shot to left field to put the Cajuns up 2-0.
The Cajuns extended their lead with an RBI single from Brad Antchak in the second and Todd Lott connecting with an RBI single of his own in the third inning.
Antchak showed out in the sixth with an RBI double that scored Alex Pinero and followed that up with a run coming off of a wild pitch to make it 6-0.
The Lions finally got on the board in the top of the eighth after Brennan Breaud was walked with the bases loaded.
Todd Lott put the final nail in the bottom half of the inning with an RBI single to center field to plate Kennon Fontenot.
Jacob Norman got his first win of the season coming on in relief of freshman Jack Burk due to forearm tightness. Norman allowed four hits, walked two, and struck out six in four and two-thirds innings of work.
The Cajuns will now travel up to Little Rock to take on the Trojans (14-23, 6-9 Sun Belt) with first pitch on Friday set for 6 pm.
