After being overlooked in the NBA Draft on Thursday night, Shawn Long gets a contract with an NBA team.
The former Ragin Cajun is headed to Philadelphia after signing a two-year partially guaranteed contract on Friday afternoon. The Vertical was the first to break the news. Additional contract details are unknown at the moment.
Long, a native of Morgan City, averaged a double-double all four years of college and holds career records in the Sun Belt for rebounds with 1,447.
In an interesting note, former Ragin Cajun and fellow teammate of Long Elfrid Payton was also drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers in 2014 before being traded over to the Orlando Magic.
