Cajuns Take Down Louisiana Tech In Midweek Matchup

Posted by clintdomingue on May 9, 2017 in Latest News

Cajuns Baseball

As the Louisiana Ragin Cajuns (29-19-1) are getting closer to the end of the season, they need to get the momentum back on their side after losing two straight series.

The Cajuns were able to give Evan Guillory some run support on Tuesday night against Louisiana Tech 3-1.

Alex Pinero drew first blood in the bottom of the fourth with a sac fly to centerfield that got Steven Sensley home safely. Later in the inning, Handsome Monica gave the Cajuns a 2-0 lead with an RBI single right up the middle.

The Bulldogs cut the lead in half in the top of the fifth when Cody Daigle hit a single down the left field line to score Jon Washam.

The Cajuns were able to put a gap between themselves and Louisiana Tech in the bottom of the sixth when Brad Antchak bunted into a fielder’s choice to score Kennon Fontenot.

Guillory improved to 4-2 on the season allowing one run off of five hits, walked one, and struck out one batter in five innings of work.

Dylan Moore got his ninth save of the season allowing only one hit and striking out one in the ninth.

The Cajuns will try to keep the ball rolling on Wednesday night when they take on McNeese State (31-15) with first pitch set for 6 pm.
