Cajuns Taken Down By Louisiana Tech

Posted by clintdomingue on April 27, 2016 in Latest News

Cajuns

The Ragin Cajuns had another tough midweek matchup on Wednesday night against Louisiana Tech (25-13), suffering the same fate as they did the previous night in Hattiesburg.

The Bulldogs got started in the top of the first when Chase Lunceford hit a single to right field that allowed Jon Washam to scamper home before Lunceford was thrown out trying to extend the hit to a double.

Brenn Conrad tied things up in the bottom of the fourth with a solo shot to right field.

The Bulldogs got the lead back and did not let up in the seventh inning, scoring four runs, capped off by Washam hitting a double down the right field line to score Sean Ulrich.

But the Cajuns weren’t about to go away quietly as Alex Pinero sent one over the left field wall in the bottom of the eighth to get two runs across to make it 5-3. But it was Ulrich who put the nail in the coffin on Wednesday night with a solo shot to right field.

Eric Carter dropped to 2-1 on the year allowing four runs off of three hits in one third of an inning of work.

The Cajuns (27-15) will now head on the road for a Sun Belt conference series against UT Arlington (22-20) with first pitch set for 6:30 pm.
