The McNeese Athletic Foundation and McNeese Athletics will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially dedicate the CITGO Poke Plaza at Joe Dumars Court at Legacy Center on Saturday, January 14 prior to tip-off of the Cowboys’ basketball game against Houston Christian University.
Located on the third level of the Legacy Center, CITGO Poke Plaza provides an area for fans overlooking Joe Dumars Court to socialize and watch the Cowboys and Cowgirls compete.
“I’m so excited to officially name the CITGO Poke Plaza this Saturday,” said McNeese Director of Athletics Heath Schroyer. “CITGO has been a great supporter for our University and our Athletic Department for a long time. The CITGO family is filled with wonderful people who love McNeese. They are amazing partners of McNeese. The opportunity to officially name the plaza in their honor is a very special moment for me and the Athletic Department. I couldn’t be more excited about this.”
“From athletics to education, CITGO and McNeese State University have a proven partnership of success,” said Sterling Neblett, CITGO Lake Charles Vice President & General Manager. “Currently, the CITGO Lake Charles Manufacturing Complex employs 243 graduates from MSU in SWLA. We are excited to officially welcome you to the CITGO Poke Plaza here in the Legacy Center, and we couldn’t be more proud to partner with this university as they continue to improve their facilities. Enhancements like this one are critical to attracting students, and we look forward to the continuation of our local STEM Talent Pipeline and helping future graduates begin their careers at home.”
CITGO supports major campaigns for the University that includes the First Choice Campaign, Banners, Professorships, Athletics, and much more.
