As the college football season is beginning to wind down, the hardware is starting to get handed out and there’s at least one LSU Tiger that’s in consideration for taking home some of it.
Junior Will Clapp was named one of three finalists for the 2017 Rimington Trophy on Monday. The trophy is awarded to the most outstanding center in college football. The three-year starter is joined by Bradley Bozeman out of Alabama and Ohio State’s Billy Price as finalists.
“Will is deserving of this honor,” LSU offensive line coach Jeff Grimes said in a release by the University. “He is talented, intelligent and has a tremendous work ethic. All of these physical and mental attributes contribute to his success on the field. However, his love for the game and diligence in preparation are the things that set him apart from other players. Will does the things it takes to be considered one of the very best in the country.”
LSU will take on Notre Dame in the Citrus Bowl on January 1st with kickoff set for 12 pm.
