Jayden Daniels is a finalist for two of the most prestigious awards in all of college football.
The Maxwell award is given to the best player in college football each year. Daniels is a finalist along with Oregon quarterback Bo Nix and Washington quarterback Michael Penix, Jr.
The award was last won by an LSU Tiger in 2019 when Joe Burrow earned the honor.
The Davey O’Brien Award is given to the nation’s best quarterback each season. Daniels is once again joined by Nix and Penix, Jr as finalists.
Burrow also won the O’Brien in 2019.
Daniels has thrown for over 3800 yards and rushed for over 1100. He has accounted for 50 total touchdowns and has set numerous program records this season. Daniels transferred to LSU from Arizona State and has been the starter for two seasons now under coach Brian Kelly.
He is also expected to be a finalist for the Heisman Trophy.
