On Friday, the New Orleans Pelicans took a 111-95 loss from the Golden State Warriors. The Pelicans were without four of their usual starters, including Zion Williamson, while Golden State’s Stephen Curry made his return from injury.

Bruce Brown scored a team-high 18 points with seven rebounds for the injury-depleted Pelicans. Yves Missi had his 12th career double-double, totaling 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Curry scored a game-high 23 points on 33.3-percent shooting from the field. Jimmy Butler contributed 18 points and 10 rebounds for the Warriors.

The match was tightly contested throughout the first three quarters of play, though Golden State outscored the Pelicans 28-13 in the final frame. Bench players Buddy Hield and Quinten Post combined for 14 points in the fourth quarter, while Kelly Olynyk led the Pelicans’ scoring with four points.

New Orleans now holds a 20-54 season record. They are 3-7 in their last 10 games.
