With a lot of focus surrounding the UFC this week with the announcement of Fight Island, Dana White revealed the card for their fourth UFC show at the UFC Apex on June 27th and it features a Lafayette native at the top of that card.
Dustin Poirier will make his return to the octagon when he squares off with Dan Hooker. This was originally scheduled for the UFC San Diego main event on May 16th, but was scrapped due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Poirier hasn’t participated in a contest since falling to Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 242 last September. Hooker, who has won his last three fights, is coming off a “Fight of the Night” victory over Paul Felder at UFC Auckland in February.
