LAFAYETTE — ESPN 103.7 Lafayette (KLWB-FM) and 104.1 Lake Charles (KLCJ-FM) have long been the sports talk leader in Southwest Louisiana and are adding to its award-winning lineup of local sports talk shows.

Beginning Saturday, October 4th, Southwest Louisiana’s Sports Station will welcome Ronnie Rantz and his show “Sports Shorts with Ronnie Rantz” to its airwaves.

“We are ecstatic to have Ronnie Rantz join our slate of local and live shows,” KLWB-FM & KLCJ-FM Program Director Raymond Partsch III said. “As a former star pitcher on two national title teams at LSU, a longtime broadcaster, and President of the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame Foundation, Ronnie brings an interesting perspective to sports talk. This move will allow us to have quality local programming on Saturdays.”

“To see how much this show has grown in the nearly 15 years since we first hit the airwaves is humbling,” Rantz said. “To have the opportunity to have the show broadcast in both Lafayette and Lake Charles is amazing. I am excited to be able to start connecting with all those die-hard sports fans across Southwest Louisiana.”

“Sports Shorts with Ronnie Rantz” will air Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon, unless there is a conflict with LSU football games.

Rantz will be joining a station that already features five live and local sports talk shows. That includes “The Jordy Hultberg Show” (7-9a), “Footenotes” with Kevin Foote (9-11a), “RP3 & Meche” (11a-1p), “The Lohdown with D-Loh” (1-3p) and the LAB award-winning “After Further Review” with Matt Moscona (3-6p).

ESPN 103.7 Lafayette and 104.1 Lake Charles will continue to cover the teams you love, including the LSU Tigers, Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns, McNeese Cowboys, New Orleans Saints, Houston Astros, and local high schools. In addition to continuing to provide play-by-play coverage of LSU athletics and the Houston Astros.
