
Jack Bech honored his late brother with an MVP performance.
The former St. Thomas More Cougar star impressed scouts, coaches, and other players during practices for the Reese’s Senior Bowl last week in Mobile The TCU star wide receiver, who started his collegiate career at LSU, was voted as the Top Wide Receiver at the Practice Player-of-the-Week honors.
Bech capped the stellar week by catching the game-winning touchdown as time expired as the American Team beat the National Team 22-19. Bech would be selected as the Senior Bowl MVP as he hauled in six receptions for 68 yards and the game-winning score.
It was another way of honoring Tiger Bech — Jack’s older brother who died in the Bourbon Street terrorist attack on early New Year’s Day. In addition, the American Team wore Princeton Tigers helmet decals honoring Tiger Bech.

The game came down to a fourth-and-goal play with seven seconds left.
That’s when Memphis quarterback Seth Henigan rolled out to his right and threw a pass to Bech who grabbed it and rolled into the end zone.
Bech was one of three area stars that took part in the Senior Bowl.
In addition to Bech, Georgia running back Trevor Etienne (Jennings High) who was named the Top Running Back on the American Team at the Practice Player-of-the-Week honors. Ole Miss cornerback Trey Amos (Catholic High-New Iberia) had a strong week of practice before leaving early to begin preparing for the NFL Draft.
Up next for the area prospects is the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis from Feb. 27 to March 2nd, and then the NFL Draft at Lambeau Field in Green Bay from April 24 to the 26th.
