Former Lafayette Christian Academy star defensive lineman Fitzgerald West has returned home to Acadiana.
The former LSU Tiger has transferred to the Louisiana Ragin Cajuns football team, announced by the program on Thursday.
West saw limited reps in his two seasons in Baton Rouge, recording just three tackles.
His freshman season in 2022 saw West play on both sides of the ball before deciding to stick to the defensive side in 2023.
The three-star prospect was a four-year starter at LCA and won four state titles with the Knights.
West will have three years of eligibility remaining with the Cajuns.
This was the second big piece of news surrounding the Cajuns football program today as it was announced by ESPN’s Pete Thamel that Louisiana will hire George Barlow as the new secondary coach. Barlow has spent time at North Carolina State, James Madison, Vanderbilt, and New Mexico among other schools. His most recent stop was South Florida.
