The duo of Matt and Alex Fitzpatrick won the Zurich Classic of New Orleans on Sunday evening at TPC Louisiana in Avondale.

The English brother-duo claimed a win that will give Alex full status on the PGA Tour.

They entered Sunday up by four shots after setting the course Fourball record on Saturday with a score of 57. That gave them breathing room headed to the final round, with Davis Thompson and Austin Eckroat chasing.

Early in the day, the Fitzpatricks looked steady, as they maintained their lead. At one point, they got to -33 and held a four shot lead, looking poised to win without too much stress.

However, some late pushes from other teams along with a costly double bogey at #12 put the tournament in jeopardy.

Kristoffer Reitan and Kris Ventura made the biggest charge. They made three eagles on the day, shooting -7 on the day and getting to -30 for the tournament. That gave them the clubhouse lead, waiting for the rest of the leaders to come down the stretch.

Alex Smalley and Hayden Springer also made a run. They made birdie on the eighteenth hole, getting to -30 as well.

With the pressure on and a three-way tie at -30 heading into the final hole, the Fitzpatricks made their mark. Matt hit a clutch bunker shot to one foot away, and Alex made the putt to clinch the victory.
