The Pro Bowl will be an LSU showcase event.
Washington Commanders quarterback and former LSU star Jayden Daniels was named Thursday to the 2025 Pro Bowl as a primary selection.
The 2023 Heisman Trophy winner and his teammate — wide receiver Terry McLaurin — become the first time the franchise has sent a quarterback and wide receiver to the annual all-star game since 1991. That year Washington sent both Mark Rypien and Gary Clark.
Daniels becomes the first Washington rookie to be named to the Pro Bowl since Chase Young in 2020, and the franchise’s first offensive rookie and first rookie quarterback to be named to the Pro Bowl since Robert Griffin III in 2012.
Entering this weekend’s regular-season finale, Daniels is 325-of-468 for 3,530 yards, with 25 passing touchdowns and nine interceptions. He also has 864 rushing yards and has scored six rushing touchdowns.
Daniels also ranks No. 8 in the NFL in passer rating and completions and No. 6 in completion percentage. This season, Daniels broke the NFL rookie rushing record for a quarterback and has thrown more touchdowns in the fourth quarter of games than any rookie in NFL history.
Daniels was one of five former Tigers to earn Pro Bowl honors on Thursday.
Fellow Heisman Trophy winner Joe Burrow was also selected.
The Cincinnati Bengals quarterback leads the NFL this season in completions (423), passing attempts (606), passing yards (4641), and TD passes (42), while ranking third in passer rating (109.8) and fifth in completion percentage (69.8).
Burrow’s completions total, passing yardage and TD passes each are a Bengals single-season record. His previous Pro Bowl selection came in the 2022 season.
Burrow’s favorite target Ja’Marr Chase earned his fourth-straight Pro Bowl honor. Chase leads the NFL this season in receptions (117), receiving yards (1612) and receiving TDs (16). His receptions total and receiving yardage also are Bengals single-season records.
A pair of Burrow and Chase’s teammates from LSU’s 2019 national championship team also earned Pro Bowl honors.
Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson received his fourth career Pro Bowl selection (2020-22; 2024). Jefferson enters Sunday night’s finale against Detroit with 100 catches for 1,479 yards and 10 touchdowns, which ties his career high for scores (2021).
Jefferson also tied Lance Alworth (62 games) as the fastest player to reach 6,000 receiving yards in NFL history.
Houston Texans cornerback Derek Stingley Jr. earned his first Pro Bowl honor on Thursday. In 16 games this season, Stingley has 54 tackles, 18 passes defended, and five interceptions.
