Former championship head coach Brent Indest joined RP3 & Company on Wednesday to discuss his recent retirement and his success as a high school coach at Carencro and Catholic High.
Indest started his coaching career as an assistant coach at Abbeviile for five seasons. He led Carencro to a 26-11 overall record in three seasons. The 2011 Carencro team made the state finals. For seven seasons, Indest led Catholic High to a 72-13 overall record and a state championship.
The longtime high school football coach retired in late 2019 and he said he does not miss coaching.
“It was time,” Indest said. “I’m sure there will be a time and a day where I will get an itch but I’m sure I’ll be able to scratch it.”
