Trevor Etienne has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal.
Etienne appeared in 11 games this past season for the Florida Gators, who finished 5-7 overall and missed on earning a spot in a bowl game. The 5-foot-9, 205-pound sophomore will have two years of eligibility remaining.
Despite making only one start, the former Jennings High star running back led the Gators in rushing touchdowns (8), yards per carry (5.7), and rushing yards per game (68.4). Etienne had 753 rushing yards on the season while also hauling in 21 receptions for 172 yards and one score.
Etienne announced his decision to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal with a lengthy social media post, in which he thanked the fans, coaches, and his teammates before saying he was entering the portal.
Etienne made an immediate impact as a true freshman in 2022 when he rushed for 719 yards on 118 carries and scored six rushing touchdowns. He also caught nine passes for 66 yards and returned 17 kicks for 421 yards. Etienne was named to the Freshman All-SEC Team.
Etienne was a Class 3A All-State running back at Jennings High and was rated a four-star recruit by 247Sports, Rivals, and ESPN and played in the 2022 All-American Bowl. He signed with Billy Napier and Florida over Alabama, Georgia, LSU and Clemson (where his older brother Travis starred), among several others.
