Jordan Allen is entering the NCAA Transfer Portal.
The former Lafayette Christian Academy star just wrapped up his third season for the LSU Tigers. The redshirt sophomore safety had 22 tackles, two tackles for a loss in his career.
Allen announced the decision on his Instagram page on Tuesday.
The 5-foo-11, 199-pound safety seemed primed to have a breakout season as he played more than 50 snaps in the season opener against Southern California and then saw significant playing time against Nicholls the following week.
Allen then suffered a turf toe injury which sidelined him for the final six games of the 2024 season.
Allen was a three-star cornerback by ESPN, Rivals, and 247Sports coming out of LCA. Allen helped the Knights win a state championship in 2020 and then finish as state runner-up in 2021.
Allen chose LSU over Louisville, Miami, Penn State, and Ole Miss.
Allen is not the only Tiger to declare their intentions of entering the portal, as four other LSU players did the same this week. That includes: Redshirt sophomore wide receiver Landon Ibieta, sophomore defensive end Da’Shawn Womack, redshirt freshman quarterback Rickie Collins, and redshirt junior wide receiver CJ Daniels who transferred to LSU last offseason from Liberty.
The NCAA Transfer Portal officially opens on December 9 and will close on December 28.
