Jack Bech is headed to Fort Worth.
The former St. Thomas More multi-sport star and LSU wide receiver announced on social media on Sunday that he has committed to continue his college career at Texas Christian University — better known as TCU.
Bech tweeted out a photo of him committed to TCU with him writing, “I guess that purple didn’t want to leave me just yet. Time to Rock.”
The former STM star made an instant impact as a freshman in 2021 as he led the Tigers in receptions (43), was second in receiving yards (489) and tied for fourth in touchdown receptions (3).
After playing as a hybrid player in 2021 — lining up at both tight end and wide receiver — Bech was moved to wide receiver in fall camp and even was brought along to SEC Media Days in Atlanta.
Bech was hampered by shin splints in fall camp and was unable to become a consistent target in LSU’s passing attack this season.
Bech appeared in 12 games but only recorded 16 receptions for 200 yards and one touchdown. Bech also had three punt returns and five kick returns.
THe 6-foot-2, 215-pound wide receiver will have two seasons of eligibility left and will be joining a program that is currently gearing up for the College Football Playoff, and who’s quarterback Max Duggan finished as runner-up in the Heisman Trophy voting.
Bech won a combined five Louisiana Division II State Championships during his high school career, winning three straight boys basketball titles from 2019-21 and two state titles in football.
In his STM football career, Bech recorded 173 receptions for 3,236 yards and 37 touchdowns in 35 games playing for Louisiana Sports Hall of Famer Jim Hightower.
