Every few weeks the lineup of THE GAME 103.7 Lafayette and 104.1 Lake Charles — Southwest Louisiana’s Sports Station will share a little something about themselves.
This week the team answers the question:
“What is your favorite Mardi Gras memory?”
Matt Miguez (Crunchtime Co-Host)
“My favorite Mardi Gras memory dates back to 2010 at the Krewe of Bacchus parade in New Orleans. The parade was held a week after the Saints won Super Bowl XLIV and Drew Brees rode in the parade as King Bacchus. One of the throws from the parade was a football that resembled a bundle of grapes and I was lucky enough to catch one of the footballs from Drew so that’s a moment that always stuck with me.”
Raymond Partsch III (RP3 & Company Host)
“When I was kid growing up in Mobile, every year we would go watch the parades that would roll through downtown. My great uncle used to run the old Bienville Club off of St. Francis Street. Every year, the whole family would stand in these Mardi Gras-colored wooden stands that were outside the club. It was always cramped which made trying to grab the beads, doubloons, streamers, frisbees and Moon Pies that much more difficult but it was always so much fun. Being able to take my wife and daughter to Mobile last year for the first time was really special.”
Dawson Eiserloh (RP3 & Company Producer)
“My favorite Mardi Gras memories consist of plenty of parades with my family growing up. Since I grew up in New Orleans, there was no shortage of parades from the Westbank to Metairie and of course the more traditional parades in the city. It was always great to be around the city during such an exciting time of year.”
Jordy Hultberg (Jordy Hultberg Show Host)
“My favorite Mardi Gras memory was as a kid. Mom & Dad would bring my sisters & I to St, Charles Ave. Rex & Krefeld of Elks would go down one side then turn around and come up the other side of the Ave. so we would get a double dose. So much fun competing to see who would end up with the most “junk”. After hours of this we would fall asleep on the ride home with smiles from a day of good times.”
James Meche (Crunchtime Co-Host)
“My favorite memories of Mardi Gras were going with my friend and his family downtown as his dad’s office building had its own parking lot. It was big enough for us to play touch football and a lot of the people in the parades were friends with my friend’s dad so they would throw us all of the beads. Not to mention they’d always cook up a great jambalaya!”
Kevin Foote (Footenotes Host)
“I really despise Mardi Gras and haven’t gone in over 40-something years and really don’t have any memories. I guess you can say I vaguely remember eating junk food at Mardi Gras when I was a little kid, but that would be about it.”
