Karly Heath has been known for her power and pitching ever since arriving at Louisiana.
Now, Heath has been given hardware for her abilites.
Heath was named Sun Belt Softball Player of the Week today by the conference offices after sending five glo-balls over the wall in the last week, including four in their weekend series against App State. This is the first career award for Heath, and the Cajuns’ 5th of the year.
Karly went 6-12 on their spring break road trip, hitting .500 with her five homers and 9 RBIs. Heath also posted an insane slugging percentage of 1.833 for the last week.
The South Carolina transfer is currently ranked in the top 10 in slugging percentage at .942 so far in 2022. Heath is also hitting .348 at the plate with 69 plate appearances
Heath and the Louisiana Ragin Cajuns (34-11, 17-4 SBC) will return home to Lamson Park starting tomorrow at 6:00pm against Houston (24-22-1, 8-6-1 AAC) before hosting Coastal Carolina (18-23, 4-14 SBC) for a three-game series this weekend.
