Bailey Hemphill has earned yet another accolade.

The former St. Thomas More Cougar softball star and current University of Alabama senior slugger has been named as the Southeastern Conference Player of the Year.

Hemphill is the Crimson Tide’s third SEC Player of the Year honoree, joining Charlotte Morgan who won in back-to-back seasons in 2009 and 2010. Hemphill is Alabama’s career walks leader, second in program history in RBIs and home runs, and single-season record holder in home runs and RBIs. Hemphill has also earned All-American honors (2019), Academic All-American honors three times, First Team All-SEC twice, Second Team All-SEC once and was named to the SEC All-Freshman Team.

LSU meanwhile had multiple players earn All-SEC honors.

Tiger outfielder Taylor Pleasants and infielder Aliyah Andrews earned first-team All-SEC honors, with Pleasants being named the SEC Newcomer of the Year. Andrews led the Tigers with a .368 batting average while Pleasants batted .327.

Ciara Briggs and Pleasants were named to the All-SEC Newcomer team. Briggs hit .326 during the regular season and her .382 on-base percentage is the fourth best on the team.
