Hunter Kasuls’ bat came alive over the weekend in Monroe, Louisiana and that was a big reason why the Cajuns star infielder was named Sun Belt Player of the Week on Monday.
Kasuls went 10-of-15 (.667) at the plate over the weekend, including a 6-for-6 performance in the regular season finale against UL Monroe. This was the first time in program history that a Ragin Cajun to have a six-hit performance
Kasuls is the third Ragin’ Cajun to garner weekly Sun Belt recognition this season, joining sophomore Hayden Cantrelle and junior Brandon Young. It is the first weekly league award of Kasuls’ career.
The Cajuns will start the Sun Belt Conference Tournament on Tuesday night against Appalachian State.
