Into the Fire: Live the Dream and Shock the World

Posted by alanmichael on September 30, 2016 in Featured, Latest News

Tomorrow when the LSU Tigers take the field with their new interim head coach Ed Orgeron guiding the way, the world will witness a man realizing and living his life’s dream. As ugly as last week was for LSU, this week, at least at the start of the game, will be a beautiful sight that should create a nice pop at Tiger Stadium. Coach O was born on the bayou and as a southern Louisiana boy he has admittedly called being the head coach at LSU, a dream job. From Northwestern State to McNeese State, Ole Miss to USC, Bay Bay Orgeron has been around the block, but he has never been the face of his home state. Now, at least for the rest of the season, Ed Orgeron is the face of Louisiana.

Orgeron has been in this situation before when he took over at USC and guided them to a 6-2 record after Lane Kiffin was canned at the airport. While Ed O was replacing a stoobum of a head coach like Kiffin in L.A., now he is replacing a well respected elder statesman in Les Miles. The low at USC was much lower when Bay Bay took over at Southern Cal than it is right now at LSU. The opportunity is greater too.

Ed Orgeron has a chance to not only win his dream job, but to shock the world and give the SEC the greatest mid seson turnaround in it’s history. With only 1 conference loss, LSU is still very much alive in the SEC West. Nobody expects Ed O to guide this team to a conference title, but if he can do it, if Ed Orgeron can improve just a little on his last interim gig, then Bay Bay will become an instant legend. I would hope that Ed Orgeron is not even contemplating this though, because the only thing he needs to worry about is living his dream. Enjoy this while it lasts. Nobody is giving you a chance at keeping this prestigious job. This cannot be something that concerns Ed Orgeron and I 100% believe it does not. I am certain that on Saturday night at Tiger Stadium we will all see a man run, not walk, run out onto the field with his team knowing that he is living a fantasy. Ed O might not even let it sink in. It will be heart warming to see Ed O live his dream, but it won’t be shocking. The intensity we know we will get from Bay Bay Saturday nite is what needs to be displayed in order for Coach O to truly shock the world.
