Into the Fire: Yeah, But

Posted by alanmichael on February 10, 2017 in Featured

This week has flown by. The Super Bowl was last Sunday and this weekend we have no games to predict or cover or talk about; and to be honest with you, I have thoroughly enjoyed that. We are at a point in the year where we have to face the most disturbing truth that every all time great sports talk show has faced since the red light first went on and loud mouths started spewing hot takes, and that is the fact that there is no more NFL to help you get through a two, three, or four hour show. You have no more shield when February hits. This is time of year where the cream rises to the top. Some of even the most iconic programs have that one asterisk that can be thrown out there in every argument that counters how great it is that says “yeah, but!”

I walk down the streets and I tell people “The Alan Michael Show,” and they say “yeah, but he hasn’t kept it going after football ends yet.” Ladies and gentlemen it’s come to the point where every time I am talking about the sports talk game at a bar and I say “The Alan Michael Show,” the guy I’m talking to say “yeah, but he didn’t get it really going until the NFL came around.” It’s the worst thing you can say to a being who lives for his or her sports talk show. “Yeah, but” takes away from your legacy! “Yeah, but” takes away from your accomplishments! “Yeah, but” is the argument against great sports talkers! Which is why this is the moment where you hit the record on the 103.7 The Game mobile app (is there a record button?).

Ladies and gentlemen, The Alan Michael Show hereby challenges every single sports talker to do a more hype, a more all sports encompassing, a smarter, a braver, and a more entertaining show during these non-shielded months, than we will do here at 103.7 The Game! The Universe can throw the Romes, the Cowherds, the Loves, the Schultzs, and all the Hultbergs at us! Just bring it! February all the way through the summer months we will do battle with hot takes, big guests, and creative gimmicks until one legend is standing over the footnote. One conqueror lords over the vanquished victim!

Now any reading of chapter and verse of the biblical story of The Alan Michael Show vs. the Universe, the odds are in the Universe’s favor to be the conqueror standing over the vanquished victim to which we here at the Alan Michael Show offer the Universe….yeah, but!
