New Orleans Pelicans guard JJ Redick will miss tonight’s game against the Brooklyn Nets due to left groin soreness.
Redick has played in 26 of the Pelicans’ 27 games. The veteran guard only missed one game this year, which was the 15-point loss to the Miami Heat on Nov. 16.
E’Twaun Moore and Frank Jackson were inserted into the lineup in the game Redick missed. Pelicans guards Lonzo Ball and Josh Hart also missed the Miami game.
In the 26 games played, Redick has started in 22 games and came off the bench in a four-game stretch for the Pelicans.
Redick is averaging 16.1 points, three rebounds, and two assists per game on 44.6 percent shooting from the field. He is shooting at a better rate from the 3-point line this season. Redick is connecting on 45.7 percent on his 3-point attempts while shooting over seven 3-pointers per game.
The Pelicans signed Redick in the offseason. He spent seven years with the Orlando Magic before playing with the Los Angeles Clippers for four more seasons. Redick had short stints with the Milwaukee Bucks and Philadelphia 76ers before joining New Orleans.
New Orleans is currently on a 12-game losing streak, which is the longest in franchise history. They sit at 14th in the Western Conference with a 6-21 overall record.
