LSU baseball coach Jay Johnson has added another honor to to his resume.

The American Baseball Coaches Association announced on Wednesday that Johnson is the 2025 NCAA Division I Baseball Coach of the Year.

The LSU Tigers won their eighth National Championship on Sunday, clinching the College World Series Title with a 2-0 series win over the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers.

It marked the second title in the last three seasons for Johnson and the Tigers, as they also claimed the 2023 Championship.

The 2025 team accomplished a 53-15 record, winning both the Baton Rouge Regional and Super Regional. The team only lost once in the postseason, with that setback coming to the Little Rock Trojans.

Back in Omaha, LSU went through Arkansas, UCLA, and Coastal to claim the title.

This is Johnson’s second ABCA Coach of the Year honor, as he also earned the distinction in 2023. He has compiled a record of 190-77 in four years at LSU. He has brought multiple different programs to Omaha after accomplishing the same feat at his previous stop, Arizona.
