Jordan Davis Transfers from Louisiana Ragin Cajuns Program

Posted by clintdomingue on April 26, 2018 in Blogs, Latest News

Less than a week after the Louisiana Ragin Cajuns football program had their spring finale, Jordan Davis announced that he was leaving the program on Thursday afternoon.

I am very thankful that the University of Louisiana Lafayette gave me the opportunity! I will always be a Cajun! 🤟🏽 pic.twitter.com/GeRkqG2A63

Davis was the starting quarterback for the Cajuns to start the 2017 season, but slipped down the depth chart after suffering an injury against Texas A&M. He saw some playing time later in the season, accumulating 1,386 yards through the air and 10 TDs on the season.

“Jordan Davis has informed the Louisiana Football program of his intention to graduate and transfer to another institution.” Cajuns head coach Billy Napier said in a statement released by the university, “Our coaching staff supports that decision, and we would like to thank Jordan for his contributions as a Ragin’ Cajun. Jordan will depart our program with his undergraduate degree in hand, which is not only a goal, but an expectation we set for the student-athletes who are members of our program. We will do our very best to assist Jordan as he looks to continue his academic and athletic career.”

The Cajuns now have four quarterbacks on the roster in Andre Nunez, Dion Ray, Levi Lewis, and Jake Arceneaux. After the spring game performances, it seems like Levi Lewis is going to be the front-runner for the starting QB position but nothing is official.
