The LHSAA State Golf Championships took place this week, doing their best to dodge rain and complete play. Several local golfers and teams brought home state titles.
Due to the weather, many of the events had to be shortened to 27 holes to ensure that play would finish.
In Division II Girls, Academy of Sacred Heart took home the team title. Additionally, Jade Neves won the individual championship, also for Sacred Heart.
In Division III Boys, Ascension Episcopal held off Parkview Baptist to win the championship. That marks an incredible seven straight titles for the Blue Gators. Their own Noah Chauvin also claimed the individual title.
For Division II Boys, St. Louis Catholic of Lake Charles won the team event. They also claimed the individual crown, with Kye Hanks taking home the trophy.
Vermilion Catholic claimed the Division IV Boys title, but did not win the individual. They held off Westminster Christian by three shots.
