
Zy Alexander will get a chance to play in the NFL.
The former Loreauville High and LSU cornerback was not selected in this year’s NFL Draft in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Alexander will have a chance to play in NFL as he signed an undrafted rookie free agent deal with the Seattle Seahawks.
The 6-foot-2, 194-pound Alexander was a two-year starter for the LSU Tigers.
He appeared in 19 games (18 starts), recording 77 total tackles (51 solo), 11 pass break-ups, and four interceptions. This past season, Alexander had his best season with the Tigers as he tallied 33 tackles, 2.5 tackles for a loss, one sack, and two interceptions, one against South Carolina and the other in an overtime win over Ole Miss.
Alexander began his college career playing for the Southeastern Louisiana Lions.
He was a three-year starter at cornerback at SLU, appearing in 32 games with 30 starts, while recording 97 tackles, 12 pass breakups, and nine interceptions. Alexander was twice named First-Team All-Southland Conference and earned All-America honors in 2021.
Alexander played three positions for the Loreauville High football team, lining up at quarterback, wide receiver, and free safety. He was also a starter on the baseball team and helped them win a state championship.
