After Saturday’s win over South Alabama, head coach Tony Robichaux mentioned that the wind was likely going to be blowing out on Sunday and that meant the possibility of more home runs. He was absolutely correct and three of the Louisiana Ragin Cajuns four runs came courtesy of the long-ball and helped them secure the series by the score of 4-1.
How It Happened:
Dakota Dailey got the Jaguars on the board in the top of the second with a sac fly out to right field, scoring Carter Perkins. Todd Lott responded in the bottom of the third with a solo shot towards the scoreboard to tie things up.
Orynn Veillon and Kole McKinnon gave the Cajuns the lead early in the fourth with a pair of back-to-back home runs. Lott came up big again in the seventh with a two-out RBI single to score Hayden Cantrelle.
Big Number: 3
The magic number for the Cajuns was three home runs on the afternoon to help take down the Jaguars and secure another conference series at home. You could also bring up Jacob Schultz’ three innings of work where he allowed three hits and struck out three on the way to earning his second save of the season.
Player of the Game: Todd Lott
Lott has become one of the more consistent guys at the dish and Sunday was no exception with him going two-for-three and getting two runs across, including that solo shot in the third to tie things up.
