The Louisiana Ragin Cajuns (3-6) were able to keep it pretty competitive throughout Friday night’s matchup against Mississippi State (4-5). However, the Bulldogs got a pair of runs across in the ninth and wound up coming away with a 3-1 victory over the Cajuns.
Jonathan Windham put the Cajuns on the board in the bottom of the fourth with an RBI single up the middle to get Hunter Kasuls across. Nick Lee’s night ended after he hit Dustin Skelton with the bases loaded, tying things up in the sixth inning.
Tanner Poole gave Mississippi State the lead in the ninth with a no-doubter to left field. Later in the inning, Tanner Allen put the final nail in with a two-out RBI single to center field through the right side.
Brock Batty dropped to 2-1 on the season, allowing two runs off of five hits in three and a third of an inning of work.
The Cajuns will take on the Vanderbilt Commodores on Saturday with first pitch scheduled for 7 pm.
