After all the ballyhoo on Thursday morning, the Louisiana Ragin Cajuns came out a little flat offensively in a late night to the Troy Trojans by the score of 10-1.
How It Happened
The Trojans got on the board in the top of the second when Chase Smartt hit a two-out RBI single to right field. Zach LaFleur evened things up at one run apiece with an RBI double down the right field line to score Todd Lott.
It stay knotted up until the top of the fifth when the Trojans got three runs across, capped off by a two-run triple by Sadler Goodwin. After Brandon Lockridge hit an RBI single in the top of the eight, Goodwin delivered the final blow with a grand slam out to left field.
Hogan Harris dropped to 5-2 on the year allowing four runs off of six hits, walked three, and struck out seven in five innings of work.
Big Number: 13
The Cajuns bats clearly cooled off from early Thursday morning, only getting four hits and striking out a whopping 13 times. While the number 13 was unlucky for Louisiana, the Trojans thrived off of that with 13 hits and wound up stranding 13 as well.
Player of the Game: Sadler Goodwin
He may have only gotten two hits in the game, but they were the two that help turn the nightcap at Russo Park into a blowout with a two-run triple and a grand salami.
