Another tough night for the Louisiana Ragin Cajuns (1-3) in their first road test on Wednesday night with an extra-innings loss to the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs (4-0).
How It Happened:
The Cajuns got out in front when Hunter Kasuls blasted one out to right field in the top of the fourth to take an early lead. Louisiana Tech took over the ballgame in the bottom of the sixth with Steele Netterville getting a single out to left field, scoring two runs in the process.
Gavin Bourgeois came up clutch for the Cajuns in the ninth inning when he connected on an RBI single up the middle, getting Alex Hannie across home plate to even the score at two runs apiece.
In the bottom of the 10th, things didn’t go well at all with Mason Robinson hitting an RBI single to give the Bulldogs a 3-2 win.
Big Number: 8
The Cajuns offense couldn’t capitalize on many opportunities, leaving eight runners on base in a losing effort. It’s not the way you want to start a road trip by any means.
Player of the Game: Hunter Kasuls
Not only did Kasuls get the team’s first home run of the season, but he wound going three-of-five on the evening, which was more than enough to earn him player of the game honors.
Next Up: Friday at Sam Houston State; First Pitch 6:30 pm
