One of the hardest things to do when it comes to starting the regular season is to win on the road.
That’s what the Louisiana Ragin Cajuns (0-1) learned on Saturday afternoon as they lost their season opener to Murray State (2-0) by the score of 2-0.
After the first three innings were scoreless, Tyler Lawrence got the Racers on the board with a solo shot over the left field wall to make it 1-0.
Later in the top of the fourth, Gunner Leger would walk Jaron Robinson with the bases loaded to make it 2-0.
Gunner Leger would start the year with a loss allowing two runs off of three hits, walking one, and striking out five batters.
The Cajuns will try and get their first win of the regular season against Hofstra with first pitch set for 5 pm. They will close out their trip to Hammond against Southeastern on Monday with first pitch set for 6 pm.
