Welcome everyone to the latest Ragin Cajuns preview where I break down every game on the schedule! This week it’s the Cajuns taking on the Georgia Bulldogs.
Last Week: The last time Louisiana took the field it was in a surprising win over Georgia Southern by the score of 33-26. Georgia also came away with a very big win over Auburn thanks to the leg of Rodrigo Blankenship.
Last Meeting: The last time the Ragin Cajuns and the Bulldogs met up between the hedges, Georgia blew them out of the water with a 55-7 win back in 2010. This was also the only time the two teams have ever faced.
What to Watch For:
Which Georgia Shows Up? The Ragin Cajuns and the Georgia Bulldogs aren’t that different when you look at the season as a whole. The Bulldogs have been having a rough go of things in the SEC East with their first season under Kirby Smart, but have been able to come away with some wins to make it a somewhat successful season despite not having star backs Nick Chubb and Sony Michel at 100% for some part of the season. It’s been a Georgia that could either be a dominant team on offense or get completely wrecked against teams like Ole Miss. Odds are you’ll see a Georgia team feeling good after taking down a pretty good Auburn team.
Possible Trap Game? With Georgia nearing the end of their regular season and having an in-state rivalry game coming up against Georgia Tech, perhaps the Bulldogs are overlooking the lowly Ragin Cajuns. If they are it could be a more competitive game much like when the Cajuns took on Florida and almost took down an SEC opponent for the first time ever.
Cajuns Will Win If:
The Cajuns chances of winning are about as slim as you’d expect when a Sun Belt team is up against an SEC team, but if they can put together a game similar to what they had last Thursday in Statesboro. The rotating QBs system will be put to a big test if they plan on throwing that out there between the hedges.
Georgia Will Win If:
The Bulldogs just need to perform like they have in some of their best games to come away with a relatively easy win on paper.
