Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns Outfielder Connor Kimple scooped up his first honor of the 2022 season as he was named the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week. League offices made the announcement Tuesday afternoon.
Kimple ranked second in the nation in home runs after the first weekend series, he hit .500 for the weekend (5 – for – 10) with three home runs, six RBI’s, scored three runs, and stole a base as he helped the Cajuns win two out of three in their series versus UC Irvine.
The senior record one home run in each of the three games in the season opening weekend series and put together a slash line of .500/1.4000/.583. This is the second consecutive season on opening day where Kimple went yard and is the first Ragin’ Cajun player since 2019 when Hunter Kasuls hit home runs in consecutive games.
