Louisiana’s Season Ends in Crushing Loss to Appalachian State

Posted by clintdomingue on December 2, 2017 in Blogs, Latest News

Cajuns Crowd

The Louisiana Ragin Cajuns (5-7, 4-4 Sun Belt) got off to a good start on Saturday afternoon, but the App State Mountaineers (8-4, 7-1 Sun Belt) were just too much with a 63-14 loss to end their season not with a bang, but with a whimper.

The Cajuns got out in front within the first minute of the ballgame with Jordan Davis connecting with Devin Scott on a 28-yard pass to take the early lead. The Mountaineers responded later in the quarter with Taylor Lamb taking it himself into the endzone on a 29-yard jaunt into the endzone to tie things up.

App State got the lead late in the first, this time with Jalin Moore finding the endzone from three yards out. Lamb showed off his arm in the second quarter with four touchdown passes, all to Thomas Hennigan to give App State a 35-7 lead at the half.

The final nail was put in early in the third quarter with Lamb’s fifth touchdown pass to Hennigan to make it 42-7.
