The LSU baseball team has already started to make moves for next season. The Tigers secured High Point third baseman Brayden Simpson out of the NCAA transfer portal. Bryan Lazare of TigerBait broke the news via X.

Simpson spent all three seasons with the Panthers, leaving his with one year left of eligibility. The junior infielder stands at 6’1” and weighs 190 lbs.

In his 2023 freshman season, the Moseley, Virginia native hit .178, recorded 12 RBI, 13 hits, and scored eight runs in 18 games started.

Simpson found himself in more of a starting role in his sophomore season, earning his spot in 62 games. In 2024, he finished with a .300 batting average, had 67 hits, hit into 46 RBI, and scored 60 times as High Point had a 35-win season.

2025 featured even more improvement from Simpson. In 234 at bats, he hit .389 for 22 home runs, 78 RBI, and stole 14 bases as the Panthers were one win away from a 40-win season.
