The LSU Tigers have taken the top spot in the D1Baseball Poll.

In the latest D1Baseball Top 25 rankings, LSU went from No. 2 to No. 1 after winning five games last week. Those victories include a 13-3 win over Nicholls on Monday, a 7-3 win over No. 18 ranked Dallas Baptist University at Globe Life Park on Wednesday, and all three games at the Frisco Classic. LSU defeated Kansas State 8-5 in 10 innings on Friday, bested Nebraska 11-6 on Saturday, and held off Sam Houston 12-8 on Sunday.

LSU (11-1) remains No. 2 in the Baseball America and Perfect Game rankings, as Tennessee remains in the top spot in those rankings.

LSU entered last week ranked No. 2, but they took over the top spot after preseason No. 1 Texas A&M went 1-3. The Aggies dropped 13 spots to No. 14 in the rankings.

The Southeastern Conference has 12 of the Top 25 teams in D1Baseball’s rankings. LSU (No. 1), Tennessee (No. 2), Arkansas (No. 3), Georgia (No. 5), Florida (No. 7), Texas (No. 12), Oklahoma (No. 13), Texas A&M (No. 14), Ole Miss (No. 17), Vanderbilt (No. 18), Auburn (No. 22) and Alabama (No. 23).

LSU returns to Alex Box Stadium for two games against North Dakota State on Tuesday and Wednesday (6:30 p.m. for both) and then a three-game weekend series against North Alabama.
