After losing to Alabama on Saturday, LSU fell to No. 19 in the second edition of the CFP Rankings, which were released on Tuesday night.
LSU (6-3, 4-2 SEC) returns to action on Saturday when it hosts Florida (5-4, 3-3 SEC). Pregame is set for 4:30 and kickoff is at 6:30 and you can listen to all the action live on ESPN 103.7 Lafayette and 104.1 Lake Charles.
LSU debuted at No. 14 in the first CFP Rankings last week. All three of LSU’s losses this year have come to teams currently ranked in the Top 10 of the CFP Rankings – No. 4 Florida State, No. 8 Alabama and No. 9 Ole Miss. LSU has a win over No. 14 Missouri.
The Tulane Green Wave meanwhile moved up one spot to No. 23 in the latest rankings.
The Green Wave (8-1, 5-0 American Athletic Conference), who was the only Group of Five team to be ranked this week, was slotted in at 24th last Tuesday.
After securing the program’s seventh straight victory in the 13-10 win over ECU on Saturday, the Tulane football team continued to rise in the national rankings. The program now checks in at No. 20 in both the Associated Press (AP) and the USA Today Coaches Polls.
Tulane returns home to Yulman Stadium to take on Tulsa (3-6, 1-4 AAC) at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
Ohio State remained No. 1 in this week’s CFP Rankings, followed by Georgia, Michigan, Florida State and Washington. Oregon is No. 6, followed by Texas, Alabama, Ole Miss and Penn State.
