The LSU Tigers attempted to rally back in the second half, but they fell short in tough game against Wake Forest (9-3) by the score of 77-71.

The Demon Deacons and the Tigers were back and forth throughout the first half, but pulled away late to head into the locker room with a 34-29 lead.

The Tigers took an early lead in the second half thanks in part to Wake Forest getting cold from three point range. But the lead didn’t last long for LSU with a late surge to pull away.

Ben Simmons led the way for the Tigers despite only attempting one shot in the first half with 21 points, 12 boards, two assists, one steal, and one block on the night. Craig Victor was right behind the freshman phenom with 19 points, eight boards, one assist, and two steals.

Bryant Crawford led the Demon Deacons with 19 points, one board, and three assists.

The Tigers (7-5) will hit the road to open up conference play against Vanderbilt (7-4) on Saturday with tipoff set for 7 pm.
