The LSU Tigers football team is back under .500.

After spending a week at 3-3 overall following a win over Arkansas, LSU is 3-4 with a 20-7 loss to the No. 5 Texas A&M Aggies.

How It Happened:

LSU’s defense was holding off the Aggies early on.

The Aggies went three and out on their opening drive. The Tigers forced a 41-yard field goal attempt by Aggies kicker Seth Small on the second drive for Texas A&M. Small connected and the Aggies led 3-0 with 9:10 left in the first quarter.

It was a 3-0 lead until 16 seconds remaining in the opening quarter. Running back Isaiah Spiller broke off a 52-yard touchdown run to increase the Aggies lead to 10-0.

Texas A&M fumbled on a fourth down conversion attempt by quarterback Kellen Mond.

LSU was looking to score on the following drive. Quarterback TJ Finley completed a 54-yard touchdown pass to Terrace Marhsall Jr. on the first play. A touchdown pass to Kayshon Boutte was called back and Finley threw an interception to give the ball back to the Aggies.

The Aggies ended the first half with a 40-yard field to bring their lead to 13-0 entering the second half.

Finley threw an interception for a touchdown on the Tigers’ third drive of the second half. The Aggies led 20-0 with 4:36 remaining in the third quarter.

The Tigers were finally on the scoreboard after a 14-play touchdown drive led by backup quarterback Max Johnson. Johnson completed a 3-yard touchdown pass to Marhsall Jr. with 38 seconds left in the game. The Tigers trailed 20-7.

The Aggies lined up in victory formation and improved to 6-1 on the season while the Tigers find themselves below .500.

Big Number: 3

The Aggies won the turnover battle. LSU turned the ball over three times in the game, including a momentum-killing interception by Finley in the first half. Texas A&M took care of the ball as they did not turn it over once in the game.

Player of the Game: Isaiah Spiller

The Aggies running back ran for 141 yards on 27 carries. Spiller ran in one touchdown on a night where his starting quarterback, Mond, completed just 11 passes 34 attempts for 105 yards.

Up Next: At home against No. 1 Alabama, Saturday Dec. 5; kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. and you can listen all the LSU action on 103.7 The Game.
