A lot of the seniors on this LSU team still remember what happened the last time they faced off against Notre Dame in a bowl game. Back in 2014, it ended with a last-second field goal in the Music City Bowl to give the Irish a 31-28 win.

Coach Ed Orgeron and the group of seniors on the roster are looking to avenge that loss on New Year’s Day when they travel to Orlando for the second straight year when they take on Notre Dame with kickoff set for 12 pm.
“We are very excited about the opportunity to play an outstanding Notre Dame team in the Citrus Bowl,” LSU coach Ed Orgeron said in a statement released by the university on Sunday. “This will be a tremendous challenge for our team. It’s going to be a big, physical football game. It will be a tremendous matchup, and we are looking forward to being in the Citrus Bowl again.”
This is the fourth time the two teams have faced off in postseason play dating back to 1997 when LSU took down the Irish in the Independence Bowl 27-9.
